In 2023, there is one standard and one optional engine for the Gladiator. Taking a look under the hood, you'll find a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This setup delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. An available option for the 2023 Gladiator is the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine, putting out 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Optional for the gas-powered engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment with the EcoDiesel engine. At most trim levels, no matter the engine or transmission, the Jeep Gladiator comes equipped with Command-Trac 4x4. Meanwhile, Selec-Trac 4x4 is standard for the High Altitude trim and optional for the Overland trim, while the mighty Rubicon comes standard with Rock-Trac 4x4. As we previously mentioned, every Jeep Gladiator comes standard with a world-renowned Jeep 4x4 system. Standard equipment is Command-Trac 4x4. This part-time system provides the perfect blend of fuel efficiency and all-terrain capabilities when you need it. With a shift knob on the center console, you can select two-wheel drive on smooth, dry roads. Meanwhile, four-wheel-drive high and four-wheel-drive low are optional for additional traction. 4-HI should be used when driving in inclement weather or on loose gravel, while 4-LO should be used for off-roading, as it provides optimal traction at low speeds. Selec-Trac 4x4, optional for the Overland while standard for the High Altitude, provides phenomenal all-terrain traction at all times without any driver input by automatically shifting into and out of four-wheel drive. Using a group of sensors, Selec-Trac monitors wheel spin to sense a loss of traction and sends that information to the transfer case, which alters the torque distribution to the axle with the most traction to counteract the slip. Lastly, Rock-Trac 4x4 is exclusive to the Gladiator Rubicon trim. Rock-Trac is another part-time system, similar to Command-Trac. However, the Rock-Trac transfer case has a lower range gear ratio of 4:1, meaning that it is optimized for enhanced low-speed crawling control. The Rubicon provides additional four-wheel capabilities with locking front and rear differentials, which lock the front and rear wheels, moving all four at the same speed to keep the momentum moving forward, even on the most rugged terrain.

Jeep designed the Gladiator's cabin to mirror the Wrangler's while adding a five-foot truck bed to the rear. This makes the Wrangler the only truck in its class to offer open-air freedom with removable doors, a removable top, and a fold-down windshield. Additionally, the Gladiator comes in six trim levels, each more well-equipped than the previous.
