How Capable is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Like all Jeep vehicles, the 2022 Grand Cherokee is built for adventure, and offers plenty of off-road features on the Trailhawk model that can take on the most rugged terrain. There are two engines for the 2022 lineup, the first of which is a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a 5.7-lier V8 with an output of 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, and both engines pair with an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. In terms of capability, these engines will afford you up to either 6,200 pounds or 7,200 pounds of towing, respectively, and can also ford up to 24 inches of water when properly equipped with the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension System. As we mentioned, the Trailhawk is the off-roading expert, with steel underbody skid plates, red tow hooks, and a class-exclusive electronic disconnecting sway bar. 

Design Features of the 2022 Grand Cherokee

For 2022 the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been updated and refined, and the result is a clean and upscale appearance both inside and out. The Grand Cherokee features standard LED headlights and taillights, with wheels measuring up to 20 inches, giving it a strong presence on the road. Inside, the Limited trim features Nappa leather interior, while the Overland adds features like a hands-free power liftgate, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. If you really want the luxury experience, the Summit trim will deliver you 16-way power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, as well as a Gloss Black roof, and even a parking assist feature for parallel and perpendicular parking. Other features you'll find throughout the lineup include heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a remote start system.

How Advanced is the 2022 Grand Cherokee's Technology?

The 2022 Grand Cherokee L's technology has definitely been stepped up for this model year. All trim levels come standard with the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system, featuring either an 8.4 or 10.1-inch touchscreen, standard wireless smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. On upper trim levels, you'll also find a built-in navigation system, a wireless charging pad, and even a full-color Head-Up Display. The display projects information like your current speed and gear right onto the windshield so that you never have to break your eye line with the road. There's also plenty of standard safety features, like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and active lane management, with available features like night vision, and drowsy driver detection. The 2022 Grand Cherokee also offers two different audio systems, one of which is a premium Alpine setup, and the other which is an industry-exclusive 19-speaker system from McIntosh.
