Trim Levels of the 2022 Jeep Gladiator
Powertrain Options for the Jeep Gladiator
The 2022 Jeep Gladiator features four main trim levels, with multiple sub-trims that add in even more variation. Throughout the entire lineup, you can choose between two engine options. The exception to this rule is the Mojave, which uses the standard engine to glide over sandy terrain. The standard engine in question is the 3.6-liter V6, which delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with a six-speed manual transmission in the standard configuration, though an eight-speed automatic transmission is also available. The second engine option, available for all trim levels but the Mojave, is the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6. This engine cranks up the torque to 442 lb-ft, while also providing 260 horsepower. The diesel engine only pairs with the eight-speed automatic transmission. Plus, four-wheel drive comes standard on all trim levels for traction across the board. In terms of capability, the Gladiator has the strength to tow up to 7,650 pounds, and has a maximum payload of up to 1,200 pounds.
What are the Gladiator's Off-Road Abilities?
The Jeep Gladiator is very strong and capable, no matter which trim level you choose. As we mentioned above, all trim levels come with standard 4-wheel drive, and other standard features include Dana 44 solid heavy-duty axles, front tow hooks, and steel underbody skid plates. If you want to amp things up, you can opt for the Rubicon trim, which features additional equipment for rocky terrain. This includes a class-exclusive disconnecting front sway bar, locking front and rear differentials, and the Rock-Trac transfer case, which grants the Rubicon an 84:1 crawl ratio. The Rubicon has an 11.1-inch ground clearance, and can even ford up to 30 inches of water! There's also the Mojave trim, which is similar to the Rubicon except it's designed for the sand. On this trim level, you'll find 33-inch tires with high clearance fender flares, and a 1-inch front lift so that the Mojave can glide across the sand. It also has a reinforced frame, FOX 1.5-inch internal bypass shocks, and a hydraulic front jounce bumper to help you stay in control even on the uneven surface of the sands
What Design Features does the Jeep Gladiator Have?
If you're behind the wheel of the Jeep Gladiator, you'll be able to enjoy many of its fun and athletic abilities! The Gladiator has a removable roof, which you can take completely off, or swap out for a hard-top or soft-top. There's also a new Sunrider top that has a removable front panel so that you can have a little bit of both. There are also removable doors, and a fold-down windshield so that you can have fresh air on all sides. In the rear, there's a five-foot bed with a three-position tailgate that you can lock into place fully open, fully closed, or halfway. Inside, the Gladiator seats up to five passengers, and has features like dual-zone automatic climate control, and available leather-trimmed seats. In terms of entertainment, the lineup features the Uconnect 4 infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. There's also an available Bluetooth speaker that charges in its own charging compartment behind the rear seats, and can then be removed so that you can bring your music with you. Plus, the speaker is sand proof, and water-resistant in up to 2 feet of water!
